How Your Donations Help

The Museum

The Museum employs a cleaning service for regular cleaning which keeps the general areas and the displays clean and disinfected.  Although many repairs are done by volunteers, the building structure occasionally needs repairs as most older building do.  Because of the age of the Museum and the historical proponents, repairs need to be very specific and carefully implemented which can be more costly.  The Association is also keenly aware of the the needs of disabled individuals and keeping everyone that enters the building safe at all times.

The Fisherman's Cottage

The importance of the Fisherman's Cottage in one of the Historical Districts of LBI can not be overstated.  Many hours have been donated by volunteers to not only fundraise but perform the actual renovations on the cottage.  Local businesses and professionals have provided materials and services at a discount, however, to restore, preserve and keep the integrity of the building a considerable amount of funds are needed.

Events and Programs

The Historical Association has invested in securing supplies needed to have events throughout the year which make the Museum and the Association available to all.  Sometimes the supplies are inexpensive trinkets for children's programs and prizes but sometimes the Association has invested in larger supplies such as a pull-down screen for presentations and films.  Programs such as the STEAM Program require supplies and resources and our Historical Tours require the rental of transportation.
